Boxycharm July 2018

Hey guys! Here is the variation I received for the July 2018 Boxycharm box. Boxycharm is a beauty subscription that costs $21 per month and is shipped out every month. Shipping is included in the cost of the subscription for those residing in the United States. Subscribers who have a Canadian address are required to pay an additional $5.00 per box for shipping and are responsible for paying the duty and other customs expenses. You get 5-5 full size items in each box that are usually from the categories of makeup, skincare, and makeup tools. You always get more that $21 worth of products each time and it is by far my favorite beauty subscription of the ones I’ve tried. Boxycharm also has a loyalty program for active subscribers where you can earn charms by reviewing products on the Boxycharm website and referring friends. Each product review earns 50 Charms and each referral will earn you 500 Charms. 1,000 Charms equals $10 in credit that came be used in the Charm Shop. If your interested in subscribing to Boxycharm please considering using my referral link or code that is at the end of this post. I don’t receive money when people using it, just Boxycharm rewards points. Thanks and hope you enjoy the rest of this post!

To start off everyone was to receive the Wander Beauty Unlashed volume and curl mascara, the Chella Beauty eyebrow cream, and the Note Cosmetics luminous silk compact blusher in Desert Rose. For the first variation Charmers received either the Crown Brush Fuego eyeshadow collection palette or the Tarte Cosmetics Ready, Set, Radiant skin mist. The second variation gave you either the Farmacy Beauty Bright On massage-activated vitamin c mask or the Dr Brandt No More Baggage eye-depuffing gel.

They included discount codes for Wander Beauty and Farmacy which I blacked out since I believe they are only for Boxycharm subscribers.

The theme for July was road trippin and per usual they included an insert with information about the products you received.

Wander Beauty Unlashed Volume and Curl Mascara in the Shade Tarmac

Up close view of the wand.

The first product was the Wander Beauty Unlashed mascara which has a glossy formula that lengthens, volumizes and curls lashes. The key ingredients used in this mascara are meant to condition and strengthen lashes. They are peach tea extract, licorice root extract, trehalose, and walnut seed extract. Vitamins B, C, A and E are also important ingredients. The Country of origin of these key ingredients is included on the product page of the Wander Beauty website as well which I think is neat. The mascara is also made without mineral oil, synthetic fragrances and gluten.

Note Cosmetics Luminous Silk Compact Blusher in Desert Rose

Swatch of the blush.

I was excited to see this Note Cosmetics blush in my box since it is a brand that I had not heard of before. Trying new brands is something I enjoy doing and Boxycharm often gives me the chance to do that. This blush is a beautiful peach shade which is right down my alley and the texture is smooth and blendable. It is infused with argan oil and botanicals to add moisture to the skin and the compact even includes a mirror and brush. I also love the imprint that they put in the blush which adds a high-end feel to it. Always makes me sad to use products like that though since it ruins the imprint but this shade is just to pretty not to use.

Chella Beauty Eyebrow Cream

Swatch of the brow cream on the left.

Next is the Chella Beauty eyebrow cream in Tantalizing Taupe. The creamy formula and built-in brush are supposed to allow for effortless application and creates a natural look when blended in. Overall I enjoy the texture of this brow cream but wish the bottom section holding the product was bigger since I could only really get product on the tip of the brush due to the small size. Someone ask if the brow cream was waterproof on the Q&A section of this product’s page on the Chella Beauty website and the representative said that once it sets it should stay in place until you remove it with makeup remover or face wash and that it could stay on while swimming as well.

Retail Value: $26.00

Dr Brandt No More Baggage Eye De-puffing Gel

Dr. Brandt is a brand I see occasionally in Boxycharm boxes. I believe this is the third time I’ve received a product from this brand in my box this year. The No More Baggage eye depuffing gel is a fragrance free, lightweight gel that is supposed to reduce the appearance of under-eye bags and puffiness, decrease the appearance of dark circles and protect against damage caused by irritants and pollution. The gel has a peach tone to it which will help cancel out any under-eye darkness and is formulated with biomimetic technology, peptides, and botanical extracts. What is biomimetic technology you ask? I am not a biomimetic engineer so I did some research on Google which defines biomimetic as “related to or denoting synthetic methods that mimic biochemical processes”. So basically they take the fundamentals of biological organisms and copy them in the creating of new products, a.k.a nature inspired technology. Didn’t think you would be getting a science lesson out of this did you!

Retail Value: $42.00

Crown Brush Fuego Eyeshadow Collection Palette

Let’s move on to the last product which is the Crown Brush Fuego eyeshadow palette. This palette is warm-toned with 5 matte shades and 5 shimmer shades. There are neutral matte shades that would work perfectly in the crease as transitions as well as some that would work great to darken the outer corner or even as liner. The matte shades were a little difficult to swatch since I had to build up all but two of them to achieve the result I got but overall they are good. The shimmers in this palette are my favorite since they are buttery and go on beautifully. The top right shimmer shade wasn’t as buttery or intense as the others but a spritz of setting spray or water should improve that.

Retail Value: $29.99
The total value of my variation of the July box is $133.98! If you bought everything individually that would be a total savings of $112.98. The values of these boxes always blows me away.

If you received Boxycharm’s July box what were your favorite products? Next post will be on my most recent Fabletics haul which I am very excited about! Talk with you then!
