Hey guys! Here is the variation I received of the August 2018 Ipsy Glam Bag. Ipsy is a monthly beauty subscription that costs $10.00 per month with free shipping within the US and includes 5 sample to full size products. The products range from makeup, skin care, hair care and makeup tools. Active members can earn points to use in the points store by reviewing their full Glam Bag, reviewing the individual products in their bag, following the Ipsy Creators on Twitter and YouTube, and by referring people to Ipsy. Members also get access to Ipsy Offers which are promotions they feature every weekday to help their members discover beauty products and deals from brands that Ipsy loves. Ipsy Shopper is another great perk of membership that allows you to earn cash back on purchases that are made through the Ipsy Shopper store. If you are interested in subscribing to Ipsy please consider using my referral link at the end of this post. Thanks!

Here is the front of the insert that tells you the theme of the month which is “confidence level: selfie with no filter”.

The back has a fun fact about turmeric and its skin care benefits as well as a list of a few skin care products that have other healthy ingredient formulas that are in Ipsy Shopper.

Now, let’s talk about the products!

Pixi by Petra Fresh Face Blush in Beach Rose

Swatch of the Pixi by Petra Fresh Face blush in the shade Beach Rose.

This blush normally comes in a blush and highlight duo that Pixi by Petra makes. This one is from the rose gold duo. The formula is really silky and smooth and blends pretty easily. The color is a warm rosy shade that might be to dark as blush for those with light skin tones but I have heard people use it as a pinky bronzer. I am fair-skinned so that is probably what I will use this for most often but do plan on testing it as blush. It some how ended up crumbled which I think the softer formula contributed to so be careful with this blush if you decide to purchase it.

Product size: Partial product at 0.16oz/4.5g

Product value: $2.55

This brush has soft synthetic bristles and can be used for blush, highlighter, bronzer or contour. I only plan on using it for highlighter or contour because of it’s smaller size. The design of the brush is pretty with a transparent handle with pink glitter and the gold ferrule with pink crystals. The bristles even have a hint of gold on them. I could not find this brush anywhere besides websites like ebay and Poshmark so this may be a discontinued item. The design of the brush is a lot like their mermaid glam brush collection but looks to be smaller than the tapered highlighter brush included in that set.

Product size: Full size

Product value: I was not able to find this brush on the slmissglam website but did find it on ebay for $4.99-$11.90 and Poshmark for $8-$11.

TheBalm Cosmetics Foiled Again eyeshadow in Locked Up

This eyeshadow is originally sold in a palette called Foiled Again… so it is not available as a single shadow. This shade is a silvery lilac that can be used dry or wet. The foil of this shadow is pretty intense and can’t wait to try it wet. The packaging is really cute and lives up to what I’ve come to expect from TheBalm Cosmetics.

Product size: Pan size is larger than what is found in the palette at 1.2g/0.042oz.

Product value: $4.25

Palette price: $34.00

Hey Honey Take Away The Drama youth boosting honey and copper peel-off mask

img_9274.jpgimg_9275.jpgimg_9290.jpg

The key ingredients in this mask are honey extract, propolis extract, and copper peptides. Propolis is a waxy substance abundant in minerals and nutrients collected by bees from the buds and bark of trees. The bees combine the propolis with wax and use it to seal off and protect the hive from bacteria. In skin care products it supports the skin’s barrier function and has an antiseptic quality. Copper peptides are known to help decrease the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles by improving collagen and elastin production which results in improved skin elasticity and strength.

The company does warn that some people are sensitive to beehive products so any skin care product containing honey should be tested individually.

Product size: Sample size at 0.4 fl oz/12ml

Product value: $9.80

Full size price: $49.00 for 2 fl oz/60ml

Ciaté London Glow-To highlighter in Moondust

Swatch of highlighter below eyeshadow swatch.

The Ciaté London Glow-To highlighter in Moondust is a pearlescent oyster shaded highlighter that is created with patented spherical coated pigments. The formula is soft, buildable and blends easily. There are very small glitter particles so if you don’t prefer that in a highlighter this may not be the one for you. I think this would make a great inner corner highlight, especially when applied with a damp brush.

Product size: Sample size at 1.5g

Product value: $8.70

Full size price: $29.00 for 5g

Total value of bag: I estimate the value of this bag to be about $37.30. I feel like the value of the brush is $10-$12 just going off of what they sell the brush set for that most resembles it.
